Napoleonic miniatures museum, Prussians & Brits
« on: March 22, 2016, 02:47:08 AM »
Hi guys

I have always wanted to make a 15mm Napoleonic miniature museum in a display cabinet in my home, but never got around to doing it, I am helping Erik a customer/friend of mine to do one for himself so I decided to start my own, however I am going to do an online museum, that can be a uniform resource for miniature collectors and wargamers, I am no Napoleonic expert, just an enthusiast with general knowledge, so I may very well make the odd mistake, fell free to let me know when I do, I plan to represent each uniform with a little vignette like then ones below, that will take some time, so in the mean time I will use old photos that aren't as nice and replace them as I get better ones, feel free to offer any ideas you may have, here are the first 3 entries, please follow this blog if you are interested in the Napoleonic period.
Hi guys

If anyone would like to contribute pictures to the museum, (happy to add or replace pictures) please contact me at dan.dunbar@hotmail.com
Would prefer
1) Accurate uniform depiction
2) good quality painting and photography
3) 4 pictures from different angles
4) based figures preferred, but not essential if the topic is not covered
5) will for me to crop/resize pictures when necessary

a link to your site and/or an acknowledgement will be given for your contributions.

Hi guys

No interest at all from this forum?

A couple of more updates, please follow this blog if you like the Napoleonic era, I am trying to build a site with at least one entry for all the various uniforms of the era, for all wargamers/modellers to go form inspiration.

I enjoy looking at your work, I think there's not many of us that are good with our painting/photography at this scale as you are.

Keep at it, it's a beneficial resource.

I literally just organized my AB collection - all unpainted. They were an Xmas gift. I'm waiting for a couple of odds and ends I missed (grenadiers for a line regt, drummers for 3 regts, that type of thing) and then I will start painting them.

So at some point I will have Austrians, French, Wurttembergers, and some Russian hussars done. Just not yet...

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Thanks guys, the idea is to have only 1 entry for each uniform, so the best painted miniatures and the best pictures will keep replacing older entries, until you have the best quality, however the subject is so huge, that it will take a long time to fill all the subjects regardless of quality, it's a dream anyway.

Great idea and good luck look forward to seeing it grow. My own meager collection are all 28mm however.

Wonderful project. Napoleonics are not my collecting thing* but I certainly appreciate the miniatures.
