Railway board with Sarrisa Gaslamp Alley VSF terrain
« on: March 24, 2016, 01:26:40 PM »
I am thinking about building a Railway Yard board for IHMN. Has anyone had any experience with the Sarrisa Gaslamp Alley VSF terrain range? Seems to have almost everything I need.

I'd recommend you take a look at an American Company called Crescent-root,There series 2 and 3 mdf ranges are worth a look, They're great value and well thought out products if it wasn't for the postage costs to the Uk I'd have them on my table and I'm not a big fan of 3mm mdf buildings these guys make 6mm thick pre painted walls .
Mark.

It appears that the entire Series 3 range is being redesigned. The Series 2 stuff looks good though. Thanks for the suggestion

I'm prepared to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable than I on these things, but from what I remember as a small boy who really liked his railways, the steam engine looks more inter-war era than late Victorian.  (Possibly pitched more at the Very English Civil War crowd than VSF gamers?)  It's probably not a show stopper given the VSF (or even - whisper it lest Craig be in earshot - steampunk) nature of the world could account for advanced steam engine technology, not to mention the engines used in Ripper Street being too modern as well.  It's (probably) a relatively minor factor, but one to be aware of - unless someone says I'm wrong, in which case ignore everything I've just said  ;)).
