I wouldn't get too down about it Danny, I received the same amount of votes and I feel pretty good about my entry.  The flesh on the face and neck didn't come out well in the photograph.  I probably should have given him a beard after all.

It's just a fun thing guys!

Don't take it too seriously.  I've been painting for 30 years and I still can't win a "painting contest" to save my life.  But then again, I'm quite happy with my "wargamer level" painting style.

I enjoyed all the entries.

Painting is only part of it really.  Look at vikotnik's entry.  Not only is it painted well, it is awesomely composed and a great photo shot.  This is art at its finest.

The vast majority of gamers will never achieve vikotnik's level, and I would wager that the majority of those aren't really bothered.

I agree with it being fun! I only painted that model as it was the closest thing to hand that looked even vaguely xmasy! It has been great fun tho!

Just a note to my entry:

If you look closely, you'll note that the right (Citadel) miniature is another victim of the dreaded lead disease, rotting away even under coats of paint and varnishes.  >:( :-[

As I like the figure very much and the stand is part of my Christmas army for HOTT, I would very much like to replace this miniature with a repainted "fresh" one.

So, if anybody has a spare Chaos Santa and would sell it to me for a resonable price, please send me a pm.

Thanks ...

Many thanks for the very nice comments, guys!

If You would have witnessed how rushed I have finished this vignette and how amateurish my photographic set-up was, You would be surprised.   ::)

Benbow, a PM has been sent.
