From home, I can finally see the pics, and I like what I see, a lot!

I have had plans in the back of my head for doing some 10 mm War of the Ring, using rules/units from Warmaster, Warmaster Ancients, and The Battle of Five Armies, somewhen in the future, so I shall be watching this thread for inspiration on painting and modelling!
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Really great looking little figures.

I do like those Araby Janisarries - which code are they? I have some of the Pendraken Janisarries, but not those ones.

The Polar Fix goblins look great too.

Thanks for the kind words chaps.

Blacksmith: I enjoyed your blog posts, particularly the dungeon crawl type game. It's a shame the project was abandoned. I tend to lose interest in my own projects very quickly, unless I become obsessed, and this recent revival of my 10mm stuff has managed to get me a bit excited so hopefully it'll become the project which I one day finish!

Argonor: glad you like! I'm doing a combination of mass armies with small singly based warbands, so that I don't go mad painting rank and file. Planning to use Dragon Rampant for nice, uber simple, fast paced solo Warminster type games and maybe a variant of the Rules With No Name for the Mordheim games. So much painting to do though.

fred: thanks for the comments. The Araby proxies are in the Pendraken Ottomans range code OT13, Mercenary Tufekci Musketeers. Here's a linky:

Very nice little models who surprised me in the Army pack. Saw your large scale battle shots on another thread, is that mouthwatering Araby army yours?

Currently painting up some 6mm Napoleonics since I need pocket money for either the new Polar Fox skeletons (and Orks) or Eureka bits and bobs. Progress is also occurring with the front rank of marketeers and another wily Goblin.

Thanks, I think I picked all the codes but that one, when I added some black powder to my Arabs!

Unfortunately that isn't my Araby army on the other thread. Mine is a more eclectic mix, with some GW, quite a bit of TB Line and some Magister Militum

Though looking at that photo I need to take some more as there have been quite a few additions since then.

Hello all, I've managed to be busy again.

Another couple of Goblins painted up and looking racy:

Staring to work on some buildings for my Micro-Mordheim project, lots more tiling to do on this then basing and painting:

And finally a little bit of sculpting:

My lack of patience with painting uniform rank and file troops is starting to tell and I can't help but find a bit of a lack of character in my new Araby proxies.... they're also a bit short compared to their GW counterparts. So I thought I'd have a go at making some for myself, this chap'll be a Mage type and I want so start on some spearmen next. Fingers crossed with how it'll turn out!

Fred: Total horde of painted figures envy!

Thanks for looking, there are as always more words and pictures on the blog.

Good to see you are making progress with this, that building is great much better then the ruined 10mm MDF buildings people sell on ebay.

I also been finding my own Araby proxies bland and lacking mostly in command figures, but I did find this for a Sultana:

Pendraken Amazon Queen, with a little green stuff (Turbans, cloak) it should work well.

Seems like I've been off the grid for ages!

Thanks for the compliment re. the house Chico, I've finally finished tiling but haven't got a picture taken yet. Very unusual Sultana, would make quite the centrepiece I'm sure!

Another thing without pictures is my Araby-esque wizard, not finished but now has a staff (blazing, of course) and also has a single almost finished spearman to keep him company. Two more Goblins need some grass added to their bases and a unit of 6mm proxy Empire pikemen (baccus6mm Wars of the Roses Mercenary Pikemen) is nearly getting there...... so lots to take photos of!

As well as that I've made myself an uber simple modular board measuring 60x60cm, perfect for hiding before it gets menaced by child. Here's a pic of it nearly finished.

It's just textured wallpaper on mdf, but I'll be adding CD based features like marshes, stone circles, ruins, blah, blah to make it fun and versatile.

Thanks for looking!

Another couple of Goblins painted and gearing up for a scrap! Although they've not got anyone to dook it out with yet, need to start on those Eureka Chaos Dwarves.

Seriously, these are such fun to paint and I get annoyed with myself and all my other projects.... oh well, idle hands and all that!

Hope you enjoy the figures and thanks for looking.

Appreciate the continued interest folks.

I've been fiddling with the Wizard sculpt and he's nearing completion......

His arms are looking a bit long, but hey, early days and it's much less noticeable when the figure isn't up in your face!

6mm Pikemen are all painted up, but I want to get them onto their fancy pendraken movement tray which I bought for Dragon Rampant. Off to glue some sand on it now.

Thanks for looking.

Any plans to have that wee little Wiz cast up?

Be pretty easy to do a press mould... Not that I would like a copy of one honest! (I'd like 2 ;) hehe)

Thanks chaps.

The plan is to sculpt a little range of fantasy Arabians to be the core of my Merchant Princes armies. So I'd ideally like to get them cast up properly, but I will need to do some research to find somewhere I'd be happy to send my models to as well as get some more figures sculpted!

Anyways, the Sorcerer is finished:

Just finished off the left hand and added some more flames to the staff.

Also I've been converting some 6mm Baccus Wars of the Roses crossbowmen into Empire proxies:

Quite pleased with how these turned out, my unconverted but painted mercenary pike have almost had their bases finished so I should be getting a picture of them up in a couple of days.

More words and things on the blog.

Thanks for looking.
