I guess everyone is right.  Look at the relative sizes of the ejection port to the body of the weapon.  That is WAY bigger than a 0.030" diameter round.   But that probably 37mm weapon is apparently built by MAXIM and IS a "machine gun".

Some lovely rich colours on these models. I'd be interested in what your method is for painting the skin on the Africans. I've got some askaris sat in my painting queue and this will be the first time I've attempted a darker skin tone.

Globlin, I did a post on painting the Masai which describes my style. It'd probably be easier to read that as it most likely answers a number of questions you're interested in.

The key was that there really isn't anything too fancy. A base coat of Brown, army painter Strong dip and then highlight based on the figure and effect the dip produces...more art than science

...usually a highlight of the base color and then a Color tone lighter...be it the Foundry standard Colors or sometimes a bit of a mix of the base coat and highlight...really depends on how it looks to your eye and how much you can be bothered to go back and do the highlight.

It may be a simple method, but it certainly delivers some nice results!
