Vertical Castle Scenery

I actually remember that photograph from White Dwarf.  I think that making a gothic horror castle would be an excellent idea, and I would love to see it.  I'm currently playing Frostgrave, but want to give my miniatures and terrain a gothic vibe.

Given the open, vertical design, I think that it would be very worthwhile to look at level maps for the older, platform-style Castlevania games.  The level designs are pretty congruent with your current, Necromunda terrain.  It would also be cool to have a subterranean, crypt, or watery area at the very bottom levels.

An underground river (maybe with a Charon-like boatman) through a cave system under the castle leading to a flooded dungeon area next to two levels of old underground crypts are already on planning!

BTW: The only Frostgrave game I've played was a 4 player game raid on a ruined castle (whose undead and cultists "minions" were controlled by a GM), it was very fun and a hard thing to survive!

What about a small graveyard adjacent to a back wall at ground level? From one the mausoleums there is a perilous way down to the big underground crypt...

This is a great idea. Don't forget to include secret passages and stairwells between rooms and levels.

Malamute, I was thinking in the Count's carriage as a simple and small ornate ivory box filled with old bones. When the Count needs a ride, all he has to do is to stare at the box resting over the mantelpiece, and the bones arrange themselves in the form of the carriage and its skeleton horses... Cheesy or what?! The Hammer screenwriters probably already have had this idea, but it may have been cancelled by the lack of special effects at the time!  

EDIT: And maybe it's gonna be the Countess carriage... Countess Mircalla Von Karnstein, of course!

I am planning several different styles of stairwells, all suitable for a dash of swashbuckler action as the situation dictates!

Supervike, aeons ago I've built a huge Necromunda scenery much like that one, and it was a big hit with my gaming group. The scenario we used to play most was simply the one called "King of the Hill", a competition in which rival gangs tried to be the first to place a warrior on the top of the structure - in order to do that, they must run from their starting points in the lowest level across the whole structure to the top level, eventually (and certainly) crossing the path of other gangs, resulting in mayhem and carnage as predictable!  VERY FUN!
