Matchbox Attack Track
« on: 03 May 2016, 01:34:48 PM »
Anyone seen this vehicle yet?
http://matchbox.wikia.com/wiki/Attack_Track

I gather that they've been out for about a year now. I picked up a couple last week.  I haven't done a scale comparison, but they look like they will be nicely sized for 10 (possibly 15mm).  It's a standard matchbox car so the one dollar price is right.

One other observation for those in the US midwest or at least the Chicago area. Individually packaged matchbox cars seem to have disappeared from alot of the stores (Target, etc..) around here who now only carry Matchbox in multi-packs.  However, Dollar stores (especially Dollar General) seem to be a very reliable place for finding individually packaged Matchbox cars.

I was very glad to make this discovery as I much prefer to buy my kids realistic Matchbox cars rather than the rather ridiculous vehicles that make up most of the Hot Wheels range.

That's a very cool little vehicle, and the price doesn't hurt either!  8)

Do you have a scale comparisson of this guy next to a 10mm and/or 15mm infantry model perhaps?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

I don't have one.  However, I've gotten a number of matchbox for my 10mm stuff and at some point in the near future I'll do a post of all of them with 10mm figs.

For general refference, it's about the same footprint as the other large'ish construction type vehicles that come in standard matchbox blister packaging.

I have noticed that Grocery stores & drug stores like Walgreens stock Matchbox singles. I know that Safeways out here have a couple of racks of them. My 2 year old son knows it too & always wants to get them whenever we go grocery shopping.

Thanks for that.  We've got some Walgreens around here but I'm rarely in them I'll have to check again.

I was at another Dollar store yesterday didn't find any 10mm compatible tanks, but there was a "Police boat"  (apparently a repainted "Bay Brigade" fire boat) that might have potential for 10 or 6 mm.

Not sure why I didn't buy this one.

Also, My son picked out the "Heavy Railer"

At first I wasn't impressed with this engine that doesn't run on any known rails and has no other cars available, but it has a futuristic look and the detailing (notice the tinystairs in front) does seem well suited to be the engine for a 6 or 10mm super train?

I've found the matchbox wiki pretty useful.

I was just in Target with my 2 1/2 year old today. He went straight to the Matchbox singles rack when I set him down. Maybe you need to find a 2 year old to guide you.  lol

Man I'm Jealous!
Our Target's only have hot wheels and Matchbox multi's.  Very annoying.
