Modern Pulp?

Good morning everyone,

After a playing the whole of the Uncharted series on the Playstation last weekend, I've got a real hankering for some modern day adventure/pulp gaming.

Does anyone know of any decent miniatures companies that produce suitable 'modern adventurers'? The only one I've found so far is Hasslefree, who do a couple of suitable figures but seem to be more urban fantasy than what I'm after.

Inspirations include the games Uncharted and Tomb Raider, and films like Sahara, Romance in the Stone, Jumanji, the Bond films, Journey to the Centre of the Earth...that sort of thing!

I've had a quick look using the search function but haven't found anything suitable.

Any ideas? This would mainly be for playing the magnificent Pulp Alley.

I would look through Copplestone, Crooked Dice, Troll and Toad website for Heroclix minis and Reaper Minis chronoscope range or just their general figure finder on the website! (If you are looking for 28mm that is?)

Heroclix are a great resource and the Troll and Toad website has some very reasonably priced minis with potential!

I get a lot of Civilian style minis from there myself. Just have to be careful as I am in the UK to watch the value doesn't exceed about £15 without shipping. Otherwise you get hit with Customs charges! (About £8)

Fenris and rogue miniatures also have some nice modern charactors, also studio miniatures

In fact, Copplestone has a line of Moderns as well as the KKBB minis. Some of the packs are a bit cyberpunk-y, but many are serviceable for modern pulp. They can be found on Copplestone's site under the "Future Wars" label - something of a misnomer, I think!

Hasslefree Minis are slightly small-ish (compared to Copplestone or Reaper in general) but they have some good moderns:

At one point, 'Modern pulp' was going by the abbreviation 'Mulp' which might help you track stuff down? The only thread I found though was this one:

Shadowforge/Eureka actually do a Lara Croft figure (as I think does Reaper) - http://www.shadowforge.com.au/

It's the Lara C Jones (C135) figure in their "characters" section. There are a few others in that range that would probably work.

Crooked Dice are also worth a look, especially for Bond related figures

Also check out the Fenris Apex range. They are ideal for modern adventures.
