Bad Max "the Road Warrior"
« on: 11 January 2009, 01:53:25 PM »
Hi everyone.
Yesterday i received a package with lots of Future Wars Models.
And this one i had to paint as fast as possible, therefore i had undercoated it in the evening and painted it at night (2-3 hours of work, finished at 11 o'clock last night).

What do you think about it?

I like him.
That's a great figure, and the paint job looks very effective  :)

Nice job there - how are you going to base him?

What company makes that model, by the way?

EM4 I think
Indeed :)
I bought a little Future Wars Collection there. The complet Set of Savages, a few selected Soldiers, the complete Selection of Cops and of Course several other minis from other collections ^^

Some of the Models were sculpted by Mark Copplestone, these are his oldest works for "Future Wars" (you know his current range of Future Wars Miniatures? It´s a redesign of this old models you can buy at EM4 Miniatures).
I realy like the old ones because the saveges have a Mad Max look and the Soldiers have the typical Alien 2 Marine look :)

@ Bases:
I´m going to use a flat 25mm round Base. In the end it should fit to this one:

maybe i can take some pictures od finished Bases next weekend :)

Very nice, the piccies are a bit small though, and I think I would prefer the skin with a little lighter shading. I really like the jeans effect 8)

Thank you very much :)
@ Pil:
The pics are small, indeed. Next time i make bigger pics :)

The Jeans is simple to paint but effective in the end. I used the same method on some sailors in earlier times ( a year ago).
You need only 3 Colors.
I started with a base coat of Citadel Necron Abyss ( well Citadel Fenris grey fits much better, but i realized this way too late ^^).
Then i mixed it with Citadel enchanted blue (something like 50:50) and brushed all over the base coat (using dried colors, a bit more wet than used for dry brushing but more dried than using for normal paintjob, something between those methods. And of course dipping the colors onto the base coat, not normal painting and not drybrushing ^^).
After that i used the same method with a mixture of Citadel enchanted blue and Citadel astronomican grey.
Finally same method with Citadel astronomican grey pure.
It´s really important to use dried colours on your brush.
