Hi guys

I'm always looking for cheap 15mm Mechs, I saw someone show off 1 of these on facebook that they bought from a store, and they looked promising, so I bought a set off ebay, they cost me $30 Australian with postage for the set of 6, I will need to play around with the designs, reduce the joint gap between the shoulder, change the shape of some of their shoulders, maybe give some of them arm mounted weapons instead of hand held, set them in good poses and re paint.
Its a bit hard to see, but there is a 15mm figure in front for size.
The arms and legs are vinyl, the body is hard plastic and the black pieces (weapons, hands and feet) are rubber, I think they should take paint OK, not sure about the rubber parts, will test them first.
My favourite is the green one, he has a pretty good head and I like the heavy weapons.
I like a bargain and a good challenge, these fit the bill well.

Hi guys

Started work on the first of the cheap mechs, the green one as he is my favourite of the 6, he is turning out really nice, excellent for $5 Australian, I will be painting it black legs and red body, House Kurita colours, the hover car is a converted cheap discount store toy, the rubber parts are not tacky after undercoating, looks like it will paint up nicely thoughts?

Great stuff gunner👍👍👍👍
For the latest mech screams shades of grey.

How about a zenithal light grey or white spray can paint, then paint free hand rectangles of grey to black shades.

It is perfect for 15mm ...

You would do well to look up " Gormiti " .
I think they're Italian made.
I found some at a car boot sale , they're perfect for 15mm, whether scifi or fantasy & some off their designs are excellent.

I have to ask, what 15mm figure is that with the mechs.

The  figure with the unpainted mechs is from vanguard miniatures, the figures on the base are converted command decision WWII German casualties.

Hi guys

A painting progression on the cheap mech, started with a grey undercoat, then black wash, and white dry brush for pre shading, I bought a contrast red to test how they are, and thought I would use this project for the test, applied the contrast red, and then regular acrylic black, the contrast would suit those wanting to paint large numbers quickly, but I wasn't happy with the results, so have gone over it with acrylic red (Vallejo), next up I'll do a black pin wash, then highlights, then add some details, then weathering. I think I need to add more detail to the base, rubbish and debris, thoughts?
