Yes, was thinking that or some kind of sorcerer/caster type - figured I could go bigger on the base because I like the mini.

Good, I am glad you feel that way! That is the idea I was going for, he is either a willing participant or an unlucky prisoner...the altar is a Fenris Cthulhu gravestone, I didn't notice the sigils until it was painted and tried to get a kind of "expectant" eldritch glow effect!

Looks terrific in any case. And when a figure's so obviously distinguishable anyway, the round/square basing conventions don't matter a bit.

It certainly works well!

The kneeling figure has a "strike me down and I will become stronger than you can possibly imagine" - but not in a good way - vibe! Really disquieting: you can imagine some sort of ghastly apparition arising from the carcass once the head has rolled ...
