Encounter in Goatswood Cemetery - A FFoL:Reloaded (Pirates) AAR

Following on from our "Escape from Fleetport" scenario, the pirate crew find themselves holed up in Goatswood Cemetery looking for some smuggled supplies. The Militia have been tipped off and are making their way to the Cemetery.

As this is a campaign, we determined who survived the action previous encounter (several characters had been taken out of action). One character on each side rolled to miss one game and and we also had points to spend on recruiting a new crew and militia men each.

The scenario was based on the pirate crew starting in the centre of the 3' x 3' board, within a cemetery. Their objective was to collect random supplies before getting back to the ship. The local militia started in one of the corners after the Pirates set up. The game would last 8 turns unless no crew or militia were on the board then the game would end.

The layout with pirate crew skulking around in the centre of the cemetery ...

The Pirates begin to search cautiously for the smuggled goods ...

Mr Hands makes a feint towards the goods ...

... covered by a couple of musket wielding crewmen.

Mr Roberts heads out of the graveyard.

Seeing Mr Roberts leaving the cemetery the militia leader, Sir Thomas Waldron exchanges pistol shots with him ...

... and young Sam Cripps takes a shot at Mr Hands.

Israel Hands grabs the crate of supplies and makes a mad dash for the board edge.

On the other side of the board, Steed Bonnet grabs a barrel full of supplies, but exchanges shots with Brandon Trye, who ends up wounded. Meanwhile, in the background can be seen Henry Avis securing a casket for the Militia.

The surviving pirate crew with their supplies.

The Militia with their secured goods.

The Pirates managed to escape the board with 2 lots of supplies and the Militia managed to prevent 1 of the supplies leaving the board and also managed to bring down one of the Pirates. Points and outcomes will be sorted out before the next game and Edward Teach will make a reappearance.

Next scenario being planned ... not too sure when, though.

Excellent looking game board. The set piece dioramas like the graveyard look like fun.

The good old GW cemetery makes regular appearances in our scenarios. It's on a sizeable MDF base which include walls and tree bases - nice and quick to set up.

It's been great fun to try out the new rule set and to make a contribution to the gaming community. Thank you J for this opportunity.
