Potential for other games within Frostgrave setting?
« on: July 05, 2016, 06:36:54 AM »
Does anyone think that we will see, or would you like to see, other games set within the Frostgrave setting?  I was thinking that it would be interesting to have a HeroQuest style dungeon crawler based in Frostgrave.  Or perhaps even a larger skirmish game, with a few units of troops engaging in combat (perhaps smaller scale than, say, Warhammer or Kings of War).

I would be most interested in a "HeroQuest" style game, but with more characters to choose from, like various wizards (toned down to balance the other classes), knights, barbarians, archers, thieves, etc.

How about a Frostgrave Talasman. I think it would fit the search for loot kill the monsters fight off the other players type game.

Well into the breeding pits had rules for underground so dungeon crawling will be viable soon.

A Card game like Dominion. A deckbuilder where you improve your warband with new members, spell and magic items.

I do like the idea of a role playing game. I had thought of using the Savage Worlds rules myself to create it.

I am looking at a Apocalypse Survivor setting using "modern" figures pitted against other survivor bands and possibly ET's or Cthullhoid monstrosities - I have a ton of modern buildings and vehicles just itching for some Frostgrave goodness

By "dungeon crawler," I meant a completely different game system, similar to HeroQuest, Castle Ravenlot, Warhammer Quest, etc.

I'm speaking of different game systems within the Frostgrave setting, rather than using the Frostgrave rules for other settings.

I thought it would make a great pairing with Dragon Rampant and some sort of Strange Aeons like dungeon crawl.

So any other system in a frozen city full of undead? OK

Surely it doesn't really need a roleplaying game, any fantasy RPG would do, AD&D for example. FrostGrave certainly reminds me of the adventures we had in Myth Drannor. Indeed when frost grave first came out thats the first thing I thought of, Myth Drannor with added snow.

Maybe not it's own role playing game, but a Frostgrave sourcebook that fleshes out the city and world would be great. I could see a no crunch book with pure fluff to use with any system. I would buy it just for the read.

I would highly suggest reading "Tales from the Frozen City". It's not exactly an all-fluff book, but it does flesh out a few ideas that makes Felstad/FrostGrave more alive.
