Although our unique Initiative rules and Fortune Deck are a couple of the things that make Pulp Alley such an engaging and fun game, I feel like we have come up with a better way to handle this in the Solo rules. In a nut shell, here are the changes...
Initiative -- No dice rolls. Each turn, you simply choose which side to activate and then activate all the characters on that side. But don't think it will be an easy decision, the Solo cards are full of surprises!
Solo Cards -- First, forget
ALL the rules relating to Fortune cards if you are using the Solo deck. There is only
one basic rule for using the Solo Deck, "
You must draw and immediately play one Solo card for each of the first three characters that activate each turn."
So for example, if you are playing your league against some nefarious cultists...
At the start of the turn, you must decide if you are going to activate your league first or the cultists first. So let's say, you decide to activate your own characters first...
Then you must draw and play
one Solo card each time you activate one of your first
three characters. So if you have at least three characters, then you will NOT draw cards when the cultists activate.
It is worth pointing out that good and bad things can occur when Solo cards are drawn. The Solo cards can really spin things around, so you never know what to expect.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have other questions.
