I am happy to say that Beau Gus Junction is an equal opportunity town - at last count 50 womenfolk are in various states of painted incompleteness and ready to go to town.

We also have 3 fiddlers, 2 piano players, and a bunch more yet to be classified and counted.

I think in the end the townie population will be about 100 with about 150 ne'er do wells and gunslingers occasionally visiting

Due to a super deal on EBAY which I couldn't pass on, the cast of Beau Gus Junction just increased by 92 fully painted figures.  That'll push us close to the 400 mark.  But now I have Indians besides, the cigar store one I have already.

That's...a lot.  More than I'd ever need, if I'm honest.  lol  Part of the appeal for me with Old West gaming is that I haven't needed more than 35-50 figures!

I concur.  I think I have OCD.  Mental note to self
..Old West gaming does not require battallions.

Well, i will have a large selection to choose from with different scenarios I suppose.

Utter nonsense, how can anyone get by with so few figures!!!  I have 216 figures as mounted, foot, and dead - and that's just for the guys in the black hats and the white hats.  And that is with minimal duplication - though not entirely so, of course, that would be insane.  Oh, wait, is someone thinking I might be guilty of that characteristic?  Well, maybe so, but I'm still having fun.  Who says you can't do the Old West with thousands of figures?  Certainly not me!

Keep up the good work.

Oh, and my battalions are only the US Army figures, cavalry and infantry - and the fort (and F Troop, of course!).  You may need a company, if not a battalion, of cavalry to keep those Indians away from the harm the townsfolk are likely to inflict, you know?  Never forget the cavalry was not just protecting settlers, but sometimes the Indians, too.  Unless they were some nasty officer from Colorado, Chivington was it?

Thanks Fifteens.  Aha!  That's what's missing, Cavalry and more Indians. ;)

Well for better or worse here is the results of my efforts for the last several months.  Beau Gus Junction.

Beau Gus Junction ...  Though they did have a benefactor who got them started...

I was curious if perhaps some coin had been left behind by William and Theodore, and somehow THEY might be the benefactors as well as parallel namesakes for the town

Hmmmm...
Good point.  I just now noticed Gus looks a lot like So Crates.  I guess he was left behind....

I wonder who this greenhorn and his servant are?   ;)

Also, his master’s wound though not fatal was very painful and required copious amounts of liquid medicine to make it tolerable.

Those sorts of wound always require a stiffening dose of libation, the more the quicker the healing!   ;)

All will be revealed shortly!  You will learn the identity of the wounded greenhorn and the arrangement that allowed founding of the town of Beau Gus Junction.

In the mean time - kick back, relax and meet the Quinns:  Beau, Gus and their families:

It appears we have feriners err visitors from across the sea visiting us in Beau Gus Junction.

Posed for a group photo are:  http://imageshack.com/i/pnbItD5pj

Gus Quinn, Old Scrotum faithful butler and manservant of Willard Caesar Falstaff Cholmondeley Wooster IX Earl of Snapcase known in these parts as 'Wild Willie' but more on that in the blog, and Beau Quinn.

The boys have nursed the greenhorn back to health, been on an adventure or two with him and struck some sort of deal - concerning cactus products and a large sum of money.

Just finished painting some new furnishings for the up and coming town of Beau Gus Junction.

http://imageshack.com/i/pmzeuZMCj

They are Ainsty from the UK - but got a great discounted price - paint up real nice - top notch stuff!

Coming real soon - The Wounded Green Horn Identified and first gunfight to follow - 'Greenhorn gets his goods back and a real western Name' alternate title - Muleskinner Mowdown at McCurdys Trading Post.

Stay tuned!
