Can't go wrong with the Jenova tutorial.

It's the method I used on this minis kilt.  (Not a great photo.  Few years ago.)

It's a brilliant Celtos fantasy figure.  (I must get some more.  They are an absolute blast to paint.)

Cheers Mate, brilliant work!  What line and scale is the fig?

Celtos - 28mm

Excellent fantasy figures.  Crisp and clean castings.  Excellent details and suitable for both "simple" paint jobs or "go to town..."  All, I believe, sculpted by Kev White of Hasslefree.

The Celtos and Void figures were just fantastic.  I've never painted a Kev White sculpt that I didn't enjoy 100%.  He's a true master.

What is the issue? Just get a bottle of plaid paint. It goes on smooth with one coat of coverage. See it all the time on the cartoons. :-)

Don't forget to pick up at least two bottles - I find Black Watch (Gov't) and Royal Stewart are the most useful. If it appears to be out of stock, look behind the D-Day invasion stripe bottles - it sometimes gets put their by mistake! lol

It makes drilling and pinning so much easier if you buy a packet of Acme small holes, too.

I find they're never the right size: small holes are just too small, but the next size up are too big. And I can't get the spares for my Acme hole re-sizer :-[
