That is a really nice looking set of pictures. How do you feel about the BA rules for World War 1? Does it catch / resemble it in an appropriate way?
We like to think so, as mentioned we use Gajo Games mods and also tweak these further if required, has do they, to suit a particular scenario in their mega games, do check out their website.
The random nature of the order dice like the cards in Through the Blood and the Mud rules, help to reflect the confusion whilst still allowing the adherence to a basic plan. But as in all rules it is how you
play the period, most rules can be tweaked to suit ones own prejudices if desired.
Indeed a guy over on TMP opined that Bolt Action resembled WWI combat better than WWII

In this scenario my storm troops attempted to by pass the British redoubt to achieve the scenario objective whilst the "regular" infantry engaged the redoubt, a plan which nearly worked and reflected how they operated IMHO. If I had used the tank to support them, I forgot to fire the gun in the other sponson, I may well have succeeded. Dave's plan to first pin and then destroy the enemy in no-mans land across his whole front again nearly came to fruition.
