In the film the Stargate was discovered by American Explorers in the 1920s, but who knows what would have happened if another group of Explorers had uncovered it.  :)

The Wargods range from Crocodile Games seems favourite for Goa'uld.

I thought about them, then realised I had a Heresy Dark Lord that I'd been looking for something to use with for ages.

He'll make a good Anubis-style Goa'uld.  :)

Good thinking, he's a great mini.  I've been looking for him as a Star Wars Emperor.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how well the different rules/character archetypes/other bits and bobs work with each other from the different rulessets?

In a rough sense, they go together. Your .45 Adventure characters may have a tough time with a Fantastic Worlds setting as they will not have the armor or some of the abilities to stand up to the higher power ray guns. But, with a little tweaking, you can use your WWII squad as being sucked into the future and having to survive with hostile aliens and such.

so would Fantastic Worlds on it's own work with this mix of modern/sci-fi weaponry or would you need both? (always looking for a better ruleset for Who)

I think I am going to go for a Mazoamarican feel from my Goa'uld. I will still have the standerd Egyption type, that will be fore the standerd mission type baddies. My SG teams are going to be useing imformation gatherd out of Myan temples "star charts" and a new stargate to investigate new worlds from there prospctive and use Aztac Myths for my Goa'lud and such.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Fantastic Worlds would work on its own. You may want to grab the demo version of .45 Adventure just to get a look at the weapon charts and modify your weapons to suit how you would like them.

Well, knowing nothing of the specifics of the actual weapon, in game terms I would do something like this...

203 Underslung Grenade Launcher (3)
10" Range, -1 TH, WS=Same as Type II explosive.

This weapon can only be purchased in conjunction with the cost of a rifle/smg. A model that gets this weapon has three rounds for it. The model must spend one action between shots to prep it.

Damn it.

Just ordered some Sheildwall Jaffa, and a First Prime and heavy weapon from Cold War. Now I need to find myself a decent Goa'uld figure and the silliness can commence.

Although, I must admit I am actually fancying doing their human opponents as Stargate:1895. Her Majesty's (gawd bless 'er!) brave boys taking the thin red line to sort out those bloody space Egyptians.

Thats the spirit Jolly Bob old boy, I like the sound of your suggestion. :)

I guess the gate really wouldnt be to far off, from how John Carter first got to Mars really.

Hey Kestrel when are we going to see the nest half of the game?

Oh, I hadn't seen that TAG one before, that's nice!

The em4 one is just a little sattelite dish type thing with a keypad attached, I think for use as a field comms device. Its quite small, so should fit on top of a little explorer thing quite easily. Of course, there doesn't seem to be a picture of it on the site  ::) but its available in the "Troopers" section of the Future Skirmish range. Only a quid too, and quite a useful little thing.

Those automatic sentry guns from Dougie would be worth a punt too!

Like where this is going I must admit.

Hey Kestrel when are we going to see the next half of the game?

Later tonight or tomorrow, depending on when I get a chance to finish writing it up. I'll get working on it in a moment though - I've been distracted by the Bloodbowl Bunnies on my painting table, I want to get them finished before the weekend. That way when I thrash Rev's Smurfs in the semi-final of the Chaos Cup he can't claim the moral high ground of having a fully painted team. ;)

Although I have to warn you the adventure won't end with the next post and you'll have to wait until we've played the next mission, that's partly why I have delayed this half to avoid the next wait being so long. lol
