I am looking for a figure sculptor
« on: 22 August 2016, 03:37:33 PM »
I am looking to have a range of 28mm figures made and need a sculptor ?

I am in the UK near Nottingham so if you or someone you know would be interested drop me a line.

Figures would be late AWI early NAP.

What a great thread!

Just been looking at Volleyfires' suggested link and the prices at least don't look astronomical.

Cheers,

Paul

Had  some good replies and the link to Sculptors looks interesting.

Now need to make up my mind what figures I want done first and choose a sculptor.

if it can help ..that 's what kind of work my sculptor does...picts are for 54mm and 28mm but is now designing minis for my 28mm and 20mm ranges.

this last pict is from the colonial collection of a LAF menber..Sikari sahib..minis in 28mm were also designed , years ago, by same sculptor Silvio and produced by me.
If interested in his services (quite affordable) you can contact me

No matter who you appoint make sure you have a Full Brief produced for the fig description, uniform and equipment, some sculptors a minority have tunnel vision. Ideally try and go for a sculptor who puts flair into figure poses etc not wooden.

So far I have discovered you can pay from £50 to £500 for a single Sculpt, at the bottom end a simple basic figure and at the top end a masterpiece.

I have had several methods explained to me from dolls, conversions, head swaps to full sculpts.

Never realised what went into making a figure and I have been a war gamer for 45 years, even worked for GW retail and painted figures full time for the last 3 years.

I will go ahead with my project but baby steps first.
Thanks again to all for your help.
