WELCOME TO JURASSIC PARK!
Hello everyone!
I’ve been already planning a certain project that is very special and important for me: the JURASSIC PARK.
As a huge fan of the book and movie series, I’ve been wondering why through all the years nobody came up with the idea to transform that topic into a tabletop wargame. Matter of fact Jurassic Park would be working perfect as a little „Lost World“ skirmish game. If you see it like this, Jurassic Park is pure pulp.
As I mentioned before, I have been thinking and planning this project for a long time and it has just arrived in the first creation stages. The first minis got painted, toy cars like the popular Jeep Wrangler are getting converted and repainted, lots of graphics for decals are created and even the logo for the park gate has been laser-cut out of MDF.
As I’m just primarily a painter and photographer, the first big goal will be creating iconic scenes from the first movie in 28mm scale. Even the book contains some very interesting scenes that didn’t make it into the movie, for example a river boat attack on Isla Nublar. I’m aiming to imitate the look of the first movie 100% because of its iconic recognizable design.
This time my approach to this project will be different than just showing the final cinematic photographs as a end result. I want to give you more insights in the project process with loads of upcoming WIP shots. Since you can’t find any project like this in the popular wargaming forums, it’s maybe double fun for you to trace the full process.
One of the main characters makes the kick off of the project, InGen CEO and founder of Jurassic Park: MR JOHN HAMMOND. My buddy Marc created this model with parts of two victorian Foundry miniatures, a little bit of Green Stuff and a big load of motivation. Thanks again for that!
I hope you like the start, even if painting a multi billionaire in his white shirt is so much fun, I can’t wait for painting those velociraptors.
And if you have any ideas, inspiration, recommendations or wishes: I can’t wait to hear them!
Best wishes,
Daniel
