Deck Hatches For Scratchbuilding?
« on: January 30, 2009, 08:50:36 PM »
I find myself in need of some deck (i.e. VSF turret) hatches for a 28mm scratchbuilding project. I have some of the Houston ones, but am not in love with their look. Can anyone recommend another source?

Hello Tommy20,

maybe the selection from Copplestone might provide something useful for you:

I suggest to move on to the modelling site, like boats fittings.
See Sirmar fittings they have an excellent choice of various fittings in 1:72 & 1:48 scales. Although their main products are WW2 onwards you may find something to suit you. They have lots of fittings from doors to guns etc

I bought these ones from Reviresco.

I'm just using the outer door by itself.  But the wheel fitting on the door makes it look very kewl.

The metal is also quite soft, so if you need to bend it onto a rounded surface, it shouldn't be much of a problem.
