Minis 96-99 of 2016

100 minis painted just in time too :) first time I've ever painted this many in a year so I'm very happy with myself.

Heres pics of 96-99, i just cant seem to take a decent pic of number 100 at the moment to ill get that up later.

96 - Martian Flag dude

I did what i could but theres not a lot of detail on the mini so i didn't spend much time on it.

97 - Mars Attacks Crashed Car #3

I cant take a decent pic of it but I've put gloss varnish into the sink so it looks like theres still water in it.

98 - Enforcer Peacekeeper

First of his squad that I’ll finish in January

Same iPad armour as my other enforcers. Given his action pose i had to add battle damage including glowing heat marks(most of the weapons seem to be laser weapons in warpath) on the shield.

99 - Imperial Guard Tech Priest Enginseer

Really happy with my work on the red cloak, the eye looks better in real life promise :)

Is there nothing that you can't do? You make great terrain; paint different ranges of minis in a awesome way (I'm particularly impressed by the different Blaines you painted) and you even saved some money for a FW Titan! Keep up the good work in 2017  ;)

“True” Scale Deathwatch Chaplain Cassius

Mini #100 of 2016 and my favourite to paint to boot. (the Reb Strider a close second)

Really happy with how he turned out (the face isn't as severe in real life)

And as always a scale pic to show he's a tiny bit bigger, than the normal size humans in my collection.

And how do you do your true scale marines? Terminator legs and lots of green stuff?

Plasticard spacers and greenstuff "classic true scaling".

Not a fan of the Termi leg option as it costs more and I can't get as good an end result.

Ideally I want the marines to look like they haven't been made bigger until you put them next to other minis. If that makes sense.... ;D

Wow, and I thought that the other method was hard. Another thing that shows your talent, lol. I think I'll just get a couple of marines from Fallen Frontiers since they are bigger than the usual heroic 28mm that GW sells.

Awesome work with the true scaling!  :-*

I have done few with the simpler method, and that's enough hassle for me :)

Btw, who makes the mdf staircases seen on the previous page?

Titan Fund

2017 starts with the titan fund sitting at £180 (no hobby spend last month and put some crimbo money in there too)

Has the price has gone up on the warhound? a complete one is now £364

2017 hobby spend goals
hobby spend goals stay the same but this month I've failed it completely, damn you triumvirate of the imperium!!!!!

2017 hobby goals

Paint 10 minis per month
Make one “True” Scale Space Marine Per month and paint it the following month (their son much effort :) )
Make once piece of scenery for myself every other month
Paint up my start collecting Skitarii force by the end of April.

So far in 2017

I've started a new thread following my progress on completing an ad mech/skitarii force.

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=97101.0

Done a lot of basing

Done a lot of undercoating

True Scaling Deathwatch Overkill
Started to plan how I'm going to true scale my next Deathwatch overkill Marine.

Went with the Blood angel as he was he next one on the instructions booklet :)

Because of the pose i’m going to cheat on this one he's only going to have spacers in the shin and abdomen, and I'm going to have a piece of brass rod to have him look like not touching the pipe.

Peacekeeper enforcers

Added some more paint, probably going to do more on the one i previously finished as the armour is a bit flat.

This week
I'm going to hopefully:

Finish 2 test skitarii on my mech thread
Finish a test Veer’myn
Add magnets to the door on the enforcer interceptor i got from the kickstarter (cause the door wont stay shut :( )
Repaint Cassius Face it doesn't look right

thanks for looking :)

Test Veer-myn Painted

Wanted the keep some of the yellow from the official scheme but not have loads of it.
As the Veer-myn steal and scavenge a lot of stuff i wanted that to show. So I went with brass and steel patches for the armour but weathered and dirty.
ill do the rest of the nest in different varieties of this scheme changing which bits are Yellow, Iron and Brass.

Was also testing out two different ‘fur schemes’ for his arms, to make it look like there was fur there. I think the patchy one on the left arm is the best.

Invisible martian

Technically this guy is finished and painted :)

Nice. I do like Mantic's Veer-myn one of their most interesting ranges I think.
