From the ashes of the Photobucket apocalypse rises my new thread

Thanks for checking it out :)

While there will be items on here from a variety of sci-fi manufactures, all are tied into the same 40k head cannon
e.g the Mantic warpath verse is a number of sectors south of the Segmentum Tempestus and west of the ultima segmentum founded by rouge traders.
There are Remnant fleets of Xenos (and sometimes human races) that were evicted from their planets by the Imperium during the great crusade.
Predators are still hunting anything they can, they love Catachan and hunting space marines.
Every now and again a strange person in a blue box shows up goes “nope” and leaves again.

I find I’m more productive/focused when I do a thread like this.

So these are things I’m working on/ have worked on

Albion Rifles Imperial Guard
“The Albion Rifles are a regiment from the united kolonies(there’s a reason its spelt with a K) of the Albion, unlike other regiments from Albion the Rifles recruit from Albion Prime, Icy Caledonia, the arid murphy’s world and the moon of Gwlad.”[/]

UK (mostly WW2) inspired imperial Guard.

Albion S.A.S
“Who dares Wins"
“The S.A.S regiment has a heritage going back to the first colonisation of the Albion system and even Terra itself.
For decades before the dark they were the elite of Albion's military, and that's all that is still recorded of them just the initials a motto and barley two sentences.

No one knows what happened to them, many think they were discarded by the techno knights of the noble families during the dark.
When Guilliman brought the great crusade to the Albion and united the Colonies they were just a footnote in a militarum history textbook.
It wasn't until 1000 years later that they would be reformed.

Major David Stirling during Waaagh Mary, recognised the need for an elite Commando unit to perform the tasks high command would wait 11 years for the Astartes to arrive for, after a lot of arguing eventually Stirling got his own way.
Named because he remembered the motto from his days in the Scolar, the S.A.S performed lightning raids and assassinations crippling the Ork invasion leading to Albion's forces eradicating the greenskins before the Astartes arrived.

The legend restored it has only grown since."

Got quite a few tanks that arnt in the pic to finish but I'm waiting on an airbrush purchase (got the cash saved just need to get one) before I do it.
I’m going to aim for the UK woodland camo look on them.

Deadzone Enforcers

I-pad armour on the standard (Mook) enforcers with the special characters in colourful armour matching who their based on.

Deadzone rebs

Tried to get them looking as individual as possible, so they’re a rag tag group. (Think serenity and Star Wars rebels)

Very Happy with how the Strider came out

Xenomorphs

This is all the Xenos i have, despite the poor effort by Prodos with the treatment of me as a backer the minis are fantastic.

It’s a shame the company is a bunch of lying T!”£$

Infinity PanO

Ultramarines

lots to do and add, but should have a big update with the DI boxed set.

Their all true scale btw (in 1/56 scale 7 foot would be 38mm and they would be taller if stood upright)

Vs primaris
<a href='https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/886576-True%20Scale%20v%20Primaris%202.html'><img src='https://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2017/6/28/886576_md-True%20Scale%20v%20Primaris%202.jpg' alt='True Scale v Primaris 2' border='0'>[/url]

My stance is that Primaris marines are just true scale marines in rules and proportions so I’m very happy with them being released.

I don’t mind that the Rhino looks small either as real APCs are on the small side too.

Deathwatch

Only Cassius so far but more will come, I’ve got Deathwatch overkill game and start collecting boxes to use to fill the role.

Thanks again for checking my thread out.

Please drop a comment if you like what you see or have any feedback, I really appreciate it and it helps keep be motivated.

Other project threads ill be bumbling about in shortly.

Got my first Ultramarine Primaris Marine finished.

The ultramarines symbol is etched brass.

Happy with how he came out now to do the rest of the DI boxed set :)

Really nice work on all your minis. The skull on the strider looks awesome, great idea. Loving your primaris marine too, the more I see them the more I'm tempted to get some.

They look very good - well done. :)

My only (very minor!) comment is that the brass etch Ultramarine symbol looks a bit rougher than I would have expected - is that just how they come (i.e., the finish of the etched edge), or is that the result of glue, or wash, or...? I was thinking of getting some Dark Angels brass etch, but given the relative fiddliness of their symbol compared the Ultramarine symbol, I'm less sure about the idea now and would therefore appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Nice Primaris Marines but I'm really digging the Punisher Strider.

Sorry for the late response, the roughness is down to me being sloppy. Super glue in my thumb as I was trying to press it down. In a none giant pic it looks ok :)

I'm now using tweasers to attach them and their a lot smoother. (I'll have some pics Wednesday.)

Ultramarine Reinforcements

Finished 4 more ultramarines

Pretty happy with the knee pad checks

Conversions in progress

Captain in gravis armour

Can't decide if I should replace the sword with an Ultramarine Gladius and if I should get some of those leather tabard things to put over his crotch.

Interceptor

Not a fan of the stock poses so tried to get this one to look like he's jetted past something and is using his foot to do a hand break turn :)

Thanks for looking

Nice Ultramarines.

Fiddly photo etch is a nightmare. I lightly sanded the back of some photo etch and used liquid poly.

http://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/ultra-vanilla-marines.html

http://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/chaos-renegade-hellhound.html

Though nothing over a curve (the Hell Hound's hatch was from a Chaos Rhino after a liquid poly accident on the original hatch).

Model railway modellers use gloss varnish to attach photo etch plates (normally prepainted items over painted models).

The insane use variable power soldering irons.

Necromunda Orlock and an adventure in stripping

No not that stripping you filthy boy….. ;)

With New-cromunda announced it was time for me to strip the paint off of my old necromunda minis.

Don't judge me!

Their really old

All to be stripped minis in a bath of detol to wash away my sins

I also finished off one of my favourite minis from Necromunda that I picked up last year.

I like to think I've got better at painting since I did the old mundo minis.

Lovely Orlock, and the cans are a cool touch - the one on the Strider base was cool too.

Sorry to nitpick but there's a wee blob of 'something' bottom left of the Orlock's loincloth - I'm only pointing this out cos it's such nice work otherwise. All your Rebs are really nicely done too, good man 👍

cheers both

thanks for the heads up Ragsta now fixed :)

Joe’s first Plague marine

A slight break from painting smurfs but more DI.

Went with the usual green scheme but dirtied it up a lot, rust in the steel, lots of typhus corruption and (can't even say it so I can't spell it) oxide on the brass.

Thanks for dropping by
