That's a lovely dress the native is wearing  :-*
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Lovely figures, Jeff.  May I ask what you are using for varnish?  Nice and matt.

It's this stuff George, best stuff out there IMHO. No frosting and flat as a pancake.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Winsor-Newton-Professional-Matt-Varnish/262861447289?_trksid=p2385738.c100677.m4598&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3Da38d148a016f46059e6b6e8c93e825fe%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D23%26sd%3D222110078588

Don't mix it up with the general purpose varnish as that has a slight sheen to it.
Hope this helps,

Jeff

Having seen these it looks like a visit to the Empress stand at partizan is going to be in order. Very nice, I like the Sennett hatted ones in particular, just the thing for manning river steamers.

Jeff, any idea what shade of Vellejo blue would match the shade on your figures please? I want to add a Gatling gun to my Bongo Bongo Field Force using your piccys as inspiration!

Sorry Harry, I haven't got a Vallejo blue to do a comparison but someone on here must know. I've used the Foundry triad Union Blue 111, and the Windsor and Newton varnish mentioned above lifts the colour a little in my opinion. It's about eight quid for the three pots of paint but I use it a lot so it's well worth the money.
