New project: T-28 Super Heavy Tank
« on: September 11, 2016, 09:57:25 PM »
Next project:
T28 Super heavy tank / T95 107mm Motor Gun Carriage

Hull underway and half the wheels done

Quality Inspector Reid has obviously found something he's not happy with!

It's got a lot of wheels...  32.  Each pair is 16 parts....

Is this to be part of a certain "After 45" range? Or you can't divulge it?  ;)

Very nice! (Though I have to admit to looking forward to your planned Centurion I/II more - as I play Brits - saw your announcement on the BA forum.) That said a T29 would be somewhat epic (& might even warrant a new army just to use it) - something to to give those Maus crew a bit of a sweat.

Thanks!

Yes the Centurion will be quite an addition to the brits.  T29 is going to be a pain as the turret is cast so its all curves.  Buts its on the list somewhere...

Not really sure where to draw the line as i love the conquerer too but thats much later.

3 hours work and back to this same position (ish) now with idlers and sprokets.

I didn't like the wheels they were all a bit wonkey and not defined well enough so I remade them all....

Tracks next...

Couple more pics of the tracks:

The outer tracks are seperate like the real thing but I've not done all the interior details on the hull - It was too much work considering most people will glue the outer tracks in place!

Gun mantle next - but it's proving hard to find pics of the area behind the mantle.  Taht does mean that no one else will know if it's wrong though!
