Hello all,

I have kept myself busy the past year making terrain and painting miniatures for Frostgrave.

I have been receiving lots of favourable comments about my terrain setup and I thought I would put together a series of tutorials explaining my method of making terrain. Hopefully you will pick up some new terrain tips.

Do you know whether your snow recipe will yellow with age?  I've no experience with snow terrain, but I have heard that it can yellow over time and would like to use a recipe that won't do that.

Time will tell but from what I have read yellowing is normally because people use something like bicarbonate of soda or some other chemical for the snow.

The snow flock is straight from the flock bottle so I expect that will stay white. As for the snow mix I make, it's made from white acrylic paint(which should stay white), the snow flock and PVA glue which shouldn't turn yellow.

The PVA glue could be a problem as some yellow over time, but that depends on the type and its age. Other than that, you should be safe.

Not to hijack the thread, but I've also read that the baking soda and/or PVA glue can cause yellowing, and some stated that adding white paint can eliminate this.  Things seem consistent about the baking soda yellowing, but I am wondering what kind of PVA to use.  I usually just use Elmer's when gluing sand to bases, etc.  Will that yellow?

I do something similar to Fuzzy but:

For white paint I use Crown Satin for interior wood and metal, which is water based and non yellowing

For adhesive I use Evostik external grade resin (wood glue in the blue bottle) which is white but dries clear and no problems with yellowing after years

Do you combine it with snow flock?  What is your ratio recipe of XXX : Evostik : Crown Satin?

Impressive build and very good toots.
Since we are now talking snow.  This was posted in the how to section.  I can vouch for it since I have tried it out and get impressive results.
