Any 15mm Afgan Tribesmen out there?
« on: October 08, 2016, 10:08:15 PM »
Anyone make Afghan tribesmen in 15mm for NWF? I can only find the Afghan Regulars from Old Glory.

Also is it possible to mix Sudan and NWF British? I am thinking of trying out TMWWBK in 15mm and am not too bothered about 100% historical accuracy...more that I get the right 'feel'- (Think Hollywood film director not historical battle re-enactment society.)

Think there's a thread on this elsewhere here - Blue Moon should be your first choice for 15mm NWF stuff: Pathans and Afghan Regulars, British and Indian troops. The older range by Warrior Miniatures has some characterful Afghan tribesmen as well.

I'd have no problem using Sudan Brits for NWF - most differences are negligible in 15mm and you're definitely closer to reality than most Hollywood interpretations. Take a look at Peter Pig, who do a lovely 15mm range. Indian troops from Minifigs (Bengal lancers etc) fill in some gaps if you don't mind single poses.

I second Blue Moon, their lines are simply great. Otherwise, I think I remember Peter Pig did some, which are more true to the scale.

If you are going with Blue Moon, be wary of other ranges being smaller than their figures, the well known 18 mm versus 15 mm challenge.  But Blue Moon are great figures.  Don't overlook the venerable Minifigs ranges - still smaller than Blue Moon, though.

Take a look at Black Hat Miniatures. (www.blackhat.co.uk). In their 15mm range look for the sikh war, on page 4  are Afgan foot and mounted. They also have a colonial range which is worth a look. The figiures have a chunky look but they paint up nicely

Irregular miniatures also do them in 15mm in their colonial range.
