Couldn't agree more but not sure that I should order them from France.

Maybe I should fly to the US and buy them from Brigade Games in person?!

Cheers,

Paul

Yes you should. This is an old chestnut that keeps popping up every couple of months or so and I sometimes wonder if we shouldn't ask the mods for a "buying Brigades Games figures from Europe" sticky. Bottom line, if you keep your orders below the 100/120 dollars mark, you'll fall under the French customs' radar and won't be hit with import taxes. Postage is a bit expensive but that's not Lon Weiss' fault, it was USPS who raised their prices a couple of years ago.

Trust me, I speak from experience as I have been placing an average of four orders a year from BG since 2012 and not once have I had to pay any kind of customs tax. Can't speak for all European countries, but ordering BG figures from France isn't a problem at all.

Ordering from Sweden also works fine. I have never paid any VAT or duties on BG imports.

Bonjour Chaps,

Just received my first order from Brigade Games today and wanted to say that the figures were very well packed and arrived quickly.

Significantly, my fears that there would be issues with the French Customs or Postal services were unfounded just as Arthur had pointed out!

So I will be ordering more figures as soon as the Sharpe chaps are available plus some naval landing fellows.

Maybe the £ will improve against the US $ by then too?!

Cheers,

Paul

I think you will mate. The customs charge doesn't bother me as much. It's the random £8 that Royal Mail charge that pisses me off. I'm just waiting on Sharpe and Harper and ill be placing an order. Lon says January is when they will be cast.

Lucky fellows. :'(
Here in Portugal its from 50 dollars we start paying a lot.
23% VAT plus some 12 to 15 euros of customs taxes. Absurd.
I would love to complete my 1812 Project and i wont because of this. >:(
