Your timing is amazing. After playing scenario 1 three times now, I was resolved to check what kind of gorillas Schleich makes as they are very good products (sadly the fabulous rhino is way too big for 28mm). But for a "Kong" stand-in, I will be looking to get this guy.

This is a massive beast - more King Kong than just a big gorilla

I used him as Kong in my build something contest - you can just make out some 28mm minis below him

Thanks for this. I've just ordered one. It's a pity the pose is so placid - chest-beating and/ or roaring would be a little more thematic for DA and pulp games, but nevertheless it's a good find.

For those of you who can wait a bit, my online search turned up a new model male gorilla Schleich is planning to release in 2017.

And its mate, together with many other impressive beasts. From a gaming point of view, the black panther, wild boar, and anaconda, at least, also have great potential. BTW, I noticed that the subject of this post is also available in a 'jungle set' with a leopard, baby elephant, some kind of plant, and two bunches of bananas - 41403.

The model is a bit crap, really. I used him, but only grudgingly ::):

For a giant gorilla, I tend to like the one Reaper has...just need to figure out where mine went, when I had to move some things around, mine vanished on me.

Found these chaps (carnivorous apes) from otherworld minis, can be bought separate for £9.00 each, might be more appropriate?

Where did all your chimps come from? They look awesome!

Sadly concur on the white gorilla sculpt but you did a splendid job on what was there.

The Otherworld ones are very nice. Bushido also has a nice gorilla that comes with a little girl called Aiko.
