Amazonian women in the mood...
« on: February 11, 2009, 01:02:28 PM »
Hope someone picks up the reference in the title. Anyway, I was after a nice Amazonian warrior princess figure that would be suitable for VSF games. I've seen the Bronze Age ones but before I jump the gun and get those I wanted to see if there was anything else around?

I'm assuming most fantasy models would suit, but there seems to be something peculiar that makes the model a "Space" Amazon rather than a regular, garden variety Amazon.

Any help appreciated, thanks!

The Bronze Age ladies certainly don't lack any of those. Oh wait, they're not rivets.

Yeah.  Just what Cory says :D

Christian is right, that is just a sneaky way of adding extra rivets ;)

Hope someone picks up the reference in the title.

This is a reference to the classic episode of the great cartoon Fururama, where Fry, Leela, Bender, Amy Wong, Kif Kroaker, and Zap Brannigan wind up stranded on a planet filled with huge Amazon women.

"Death to the men! Death by Snu-snu!"

The title of the cartoon is in itself a reference to the fake B Science Fiction/sketch comedy movie Amazon Women on the Moon:

Trying to be helpful, may I suggest the very nice (nudge nudge wink wink) Amazons from Obelisk Miniatures?

Found at: http://www.obeliskminiatures.com/ in their 28mm Shop in the "Darkest African Fantasies" range.

I'd forgotten all about them!  >:(

Now I don't have enough money to buy any and I really do need a unit or two for the Chief's bodyguard.

Something else to save up for  :)
