Supplements to Perry Cape Frontier Highlanders?
« on: November 08, 2016, 03:36:41 PM »
Would like to build up a unit of the Perry British Cape Frontier Wars Highlanders, but I generally try to avoid having doubles of figures when possible.  Are there any figures from other ranges that would suffice? Maybe from the Empress New Zealand Wars range?  To my untrained eye some of the generic infantry look pretty much exactly the same except for the paint jobs.  Not sure if there's some minor difference in the cut of jacket or something, however that I am missing...

Thanks!

Heard back from Alan Perry on this and he says that the Highlanders have a pretty unique uniform and are specific to the 6th Cape War, so unless they come out with more packs this is probably it for selection. Fortunately they are such beautiful looking figs I can live with it. Wanted to answer my own question for posterity's sake  ;)  Back to your regular programming...

Could you get away with some of the infantry variants in stocking caps and assorted headgear? Because if the regular cape wars infantry resorted to different hats couldn't the highlanders possibly of done the same? You could also do abit of converting yourself to add more variation to the figures available.

Great idea. I can definitely do a few head swaps to get some more variety. I think in the field these troops were probably pretty motley.
