The Great siege of Malta 1565
« on: November 26, 2016, 08:43:38 PM »
I have just seen the very nice miniatures in the Anderson collection for the great siege. I am also very frustrated with Warlord for not releasing all the Arsenal Miniatures range so I have converted one of the miniatures into a knight holding his sword by movie get his right arm.

Sorry about that when I try to move the photo over from photobuket I keep getting a clip of something my daughter has been watching on YouTube and can not work out why.

No whiskey priest
The ones we are looking for are the rest of the Arsenal range which was part released by Warlord as per your pics these have been sitting on a shelf for two years now >:( Warlord stated they were going to release them 2014 but still haven't, its a pity Empress didn't pick them up at least they would have been available by now.

I've asked with no response given, also the Janissary half of the range are some of the worst minis ive seen, bought he boxed set and was not impressed, weak, cartoony sculpts, awkward positioned and plenty broken, why the couldn't have used the Janissary sculpts Paul Hicks did for brigade is beyond me.

The Janissarys were for Brigade only. They were for the Ottoman Napoleonic range and wouldn't have worked anyway.

I'm disappointed too that Warlord Games haven't released figures which I know Paul Hicks sculpted years ago. I wonder what the reason is. I was in correspondence with Warlord about 18 months ago about something else. I asked them when the 'missing' WoR sculpts would be released, and the only answer I got was that they were not on the release schedule. To be honest, I think Warlord would do themselves a favour if they at least explained the reason for the delay.

I tried to get some info too but never even got a reply very frustrating they seem to have been shelved which is bizarre given they are releasing  Ottomans.
The Ottomans don't look as if they would stand well next the Knights sculpts done by Paul kind of reminds me of when foundry tried to add to ranges done by the Perry's just doesn't work in my opinion.

If Paul Hicks could be persuaded to continue this range I would certainly be interested in investing .

There is so much warlord could do with this range of miniatures it's a shame they are so half harted about it. The great siege is the starlingrad of the Renaissance. If they put the effort that they put into their English Civil War range I think it would be a big seller for them. It's history is probably more well known about in most of Europe than our civil war and no other miniature company's cover it.
Michael.
