Lost Smiley...
« on: 03 December 2016, 11:11:54 PM »
Is it just my account or have we lost the very first smiley?

I only see the word 'Smiley' instead of the graphic and if I quote a post it just puts the word in superscript as well.

Time to have a play in that Open system known as iOS...

It could be a case of the site not being fully/properly loaded, with only the text code showing, but not the associated (animated) icons. I experience it occasionally on slow connections, e.g. mobile/cell phone data networks.

If your browser allows for it, you could try clearing the cache and then re-load the page you were trying to visit.

It's very odd in that its only the very first smiley  :) with all the rest (inc the animated ones) showing fine - other sites (e.g. Random Platypus / Frothers etc) that have similar codes for icons show this graphic correctly.  Once the iPad charges I'll have a look at clearing the cache on just one site first before hitting all.

It's happened to me as well but currently fine at the mo. Some of the LAF code does seem to throw up odd Wobblies on my iPhone that clearing the cache resolves.
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Well that did not work.

Looks like the individual web site data is reported in size order not in name order and I have 50+ pages!

I decided to clear all data but not sure that's right as the site still knows me and I assume that's stored in a cookie on the iPad.

I'll keep hunting.

Well taking the option from the front page of settings did not work.

Clearing the data from the bottom of the site lists worked and I've got Smiley back.

Edit:

It looks like there is a bug in the clear routine.  I still have around half a dozen sites with data that I know I have not been to for awhile - Trainline being one of them who dream it necessary to dump 64K of cookies onto my machine!
