Hello.

I'm bumping a thread so old that even the forum warns me about it. Nevertheless, I'd prefer continuing this one rather than reinventing the wheel. Cars have wheels. There must be some kind of pun there, which I'm unable to complete right now.

Ahem...

I just finished a couple of investigators, and I have a sufficient collection of terrain for various Lovecraft Country games. Now I'd like to buy a car or two, because they're equally useful as transports and scenery. There are several sources for them. Also, there are suggestions all over this site, but they're split between Pulp, Interwar, BoB, Workbench and who-knows-what forums.

Has anyone compiled a definitive list of early 20th century vehicles in roughly 25-28mm compatible scales (1/43 to 1/60 maybe)?

Lledo is getting plenty of praise here. I'd like to add Sloppy Jalopy, Rusty Rail and various Brigade Games products. Do you want to add something, and more importantly, is anyone willing to compile a nice list in a stable location?

(Please, try to minimise the "just walk to this-guy's-store-chain" answers, because typically that guy's store chain is on another continent. :( I need sources who list their goods online and ship worldwide.)

You might also want to try an Ebay search of "Matchbox Yesteryear"...

http://toys.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Matchbox+Yesteryear&_sacat=220&_trksid=p3286.m270.l1313&_sop=15&_dmpt=Diecast_Vehicles&_odkw=1%2F43&_osacat=220

Great pulpish cars in the 1/43 scale (or close to it).

I have been very happy with the vehicles from Blue Moon, and they scale very well against 28mm - 30mm figures. Check them out at --

Yep. Maybe not the cheapest, but theyre nice and available in the UK too for Europeans who don't want to pay $42 shipping. I can't find the shipping costs on the UK site, though. Why is it so hard?  >:(

RAFM also has at least two cars. Nostalgic and handy if you're buying other minis at the same time.

For me, the Lledo cars are fine size-wise, cheap, readily available and have variety.

Indeed. They are roughly 1/50 scale which I prefer to the 1/43 scale and you can get them for a few £ or $ each if you shop around on ebay. I've got nearly thirty of them.
