Hello and Merry Christmas! Inspired by PC game Attila Total War, I decided to add a unit of ballistarii or crosbowmen to my growing late Roman army for Impetus :)  I took 4 Psiloi of "Crusader Miniatures" and converted them with Roman heads from "West Wind"... and voila, sort of a Roman ballistarii... hahaha I used as reference some late roman illustrations from Osprey, Concord and others. I Hope you like them.

( sorry for the pic quality )

Cheers

And here the whole army so far...

Those look great! Thanks for showing how well the heads and bodies of different manufacturers work together. I always worry they proportions might not match...

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Excellent work. The late Roman heads on those crossbowmen work a treat.

Thank you! Yes ballistarii are a nice addition to any late roman army... I dont know why they are not covered by any manufacturer... only Aventine for their EIR range. I would like to see more late roman slingers or javelinmen in 28mm !

Wow, that looks great! Especially detailed for 15mm, wow, super brush work!
You go to war with the figures you have, not the figures you wish you had!
