In an earlier Fb post, he showed a work in progress picture of 14 different mounted Arthurian greens. Of which these are three...
I think these three are 'knights' rather than the personality/command pack itself, as (although it's difficult to make out the details from the grainy Fb pic of the 14 figures) there appears to be a horn blower/trumpeter, who you would expect to be included in a command pack of three - Arthur, trumpeter and standard bearer. And that's not the three pictured above...

Rokurota, I wanted to ask you, since you have fabulous painting skills, about how you would go about painting brands on horses' rumps.

I have a bunch of Huns, separated into small, six-figure units. I've read that the Huns, among other steppe peoples, branded their clan Tamga onto their horses. Since Huns pretty much all dress alike, I thought that a Tamga would be an excellent way of designating the different units.

I just don't know how to go about it. I was thinking blackened umber and that would work well on light horses. But how to get it to "pop" on darker horses where it would blend too much with the horse's colour, isa problem I haven't a solution for at the moment. I was thinking of perhaps a light sand outline to even a nipple pink, but I'm really not sure.

So, I wanted to inquire and see what you may advise. Thanks for the assistance.

BTW, I started to use the technique of weathering shields and five o'clock shadows that you shared upthread. Heh, it seems I need more practice and I think I've overdone a couple of shields and didn't add enough layers to a couple of beards as they barely show. Practice, practice, practice but I'll get the hang of it. Thanks for that tip!

For black horses you can try with grey tones.
