Last week my Rogue Stars order arrived from North Star.  At this point in my process the need for additional figures was very limited if it existed at all, but this new line of Space figures did offer some very nice pieces so I added a few to my already exploding collection… no regrets; they are beautiful.  I picked up the Pirates, the Smugglers, the Crime Boss with his robot servant, and I was fortunate to have placed my order in time to include the limited addition figure, The Rogue, designed by Mark Copplestone.  North Star provided a nice gallery of painted examples of these figures, and I took advantage of that and built my color schemes around the ideas North Star provided… I am shameless.

No shame needed sir....I expect a lot of us will copy the colour schemes in the book, I know I will.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Thanks for the kind words.  I've been really fortunate that a number of great Space figure lines have become available while I've been working on this project.  North Star seems to be rolling Rogue Stars out in segments.  I've noticed that three additional figures have become available since I placed my order (Thug, Big Bot, and Renegades).  I'm happy with the ones I got and very pleased that I was able to get The Rogue which now appears to be gone from the list of available figures.  Richard

I believe he was only available along with a purchase of the rules?

Dr., I didn't buy the rules.  When I made my purchase, he was offered as a limited addition figure.  I don't think he was available as a single-figure option very long.

Many/most of these figures are inspired by Alex Bews’ “The Galaxy Council.”  If you are not familiar with that work, you are missing something great.

Great variety of figures.  My favorite is the little guy being carried around by the robot.

Really like these last ones. But shouldn't the Galactic Council have bodyguards?

There are some great figures out there... far more than I realized when I began this project.

I'm thinking that the Galactic Council will be in the safe hands of the East Riding Corporate Wars' Enforcers and Slicks.

I just ordered four of the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars' (The Force Unleashed) Emperor's Shadow Guard #33 figures.  They look great in the pictures, but WotC is a bit like Heroclix in that size is not consistent.  My experience with WotC Star Wars' figures is that the non-human figures consistently work well with 28mm (who knows the real size of a space alien anyway), but the human figures can range in size from perfect to small.  I don't know where the Shadow Guards will fit in in terms of size, but they look like a pretty impressive bodyguard in the picture.

My spaceport will have two spacecraft repair units.  Keep in mind that the spaceport will be located on two 5 ft. x 7 ft. tables… a big area though I have no doubt that it will be a crowded place when done.  Both of these repair units are repurposed GI Joe Headquarters playsets that I picked up for $3 each at the swap meet several years ago.  The one that is posted here was missing its attached crane so I repurposed another broken toy to serve that purpose (painted yellow).  The figures are Astropolis by Lead Adventure Miniatures used here to offer a reference for scale.  The spacecraft is a broken Star Wars’ ship that I picked up in a pile of broken toys at the swap meet for $1.  I thought it would paint up well to serve as a ship under repair in one of my repair units.  The engine block to the left behind the spacecraft is another swap meet broken toy that I bought for 50 cents because I thought it looked like a space engine and would serve as a nice detail piece in the repair unit.  Because I didn’t take before pictures of either of the ones I got at the swap meet, the before picture shown here is one I took off the internet.  It too is missing its crane.

Thanks Dr Mathias.  You are absolutely right about my swap meet.  It is a gem, and in this area a swap meet like mine is very rare.  More and more the local swap meets are largely nothing more than outdoor weekend Dollar Stores.  The beauty of my swap meet is that it still largely old stuff, people's "junk" like broken toys, and it is in the "junk" that the treasures can be found.
