@mweaver: :D Nevar!

@mellis1644: Yeah, those are really cool minis to work with indeed.

Boom, I'm back!

Well, this project went a bit differently to how I'd planned it. The thing is that I decided to base all the units at once after painting and I didn't really post any updates because the units just don't look very pretty unbased. :p They're also mostly cavalry, and I put the riders on the mounts after basing. Basically what you missed is pictures of brown horses standing on brown earth. So nothing exciting. ;)

Anyway, I'm all done now. Here are some impressions and I hope that I get proper full army shots online soon.

Hope you like them so far!

Well done!  I witnessed a demo of the Fire and Sword rules at Historicon 2+ years ago and they looked good but I didn't want to shell out the money for the rule book.

@chema1986: Thanks very much! :)

@Anderson Collection: Many thanks!

@mellis1644: Cheers!

@Codsticker: Thanks, Sir. :D

@vcina: You know, this is exactly the reason why I didn't go for it. :D If it was a softback black and white affair with less artwork I'd gone for it as well, if only to look at what bits I could grab and use for other rules sets. The huge tome put me off a little to be honest. I had a test game at a friend's last summer, and the rules seemed to be serviceable, but the fact that the books are pretty expensive and the fact that it covers a time that's a bit after what I'm actually into (thirty years war) made me think twice.

Some more pictures!

light guns:

Old-style musketeers:

Some more Habsburg cavalry - mounted dragoons and unarmoured cuirassiers:

Hope you like them!

I do indeed.  Very striking, esp. considering the scale.

@mweaver: Thanks very much!

Here's some more of the unarmoured cuirassiers you've seen in the photo above:

...and now for some odds and ends.

Peasants strewing caltrops. Very fun minis which I haven't seen done before:

...and of course the way all this insanity always ends. Casualties:

Hope you like the minis and I shall see you soon!

Striking units, absolutely gorgeous!
Especially the massed cavalry!
And the horses! I love the horses!  :-*

Have you looked at Totentanz Miniatures? http://totentanz-miniatures.com/product-category/guerra-30/

They are a Spanish company that does, amongst other things, TYW in 15mm, along with a very nice range of Ottomans.

When you're right, you're right, DintheDin.  Those are gorgeously painted horses.
