Saxon 4 Pounder Guns
« on: 25 January 2017, 04:18:22 PM »
Bonjour Chaps,

Very pleased with these fellows from Westfalia miniatures!

Hope that the outriders to go with them will be available (along with the promised light cavalry) before too long.

It would be great to pick some up at Salute 2017 in April!

Cheers,

Paul

Lovely. Have they been inked or dipped?

Great job on these. And yes, the Westfalia figs are indeed nice sculpts from Hicksie! I bought some myself...but mine are sitting in a box! So good on you for getting yours done!

Hi Normsmith,

The figures are undercoated black, then base coat, then a dark wash (diluted black) then highlighted, then parts dry-brushed, after which a final highlight and then two coats of matt varnish.

Trying different techniques to speed things up but working to a standard not a schedule so acceleration will be modest.

I've got 6 pounders and 12 pounders to do next plus their limbers, plus some caissons and the rather excellent mortar and wagon.

Meanwhile also working on a few battalions of Line and Light infantry.

It's going to take a while.

Cheers,

Paul

Great work on these, Paul

Incidentally, I have just discovered that the Westfalia Napoleonic range has been transferred to Black Hussar Miniatures. Here's hoping those Saxon Chevau-Légers and lancers get a release soon.

Very nicely done.

Bonjour Paul, ça va?

Lovely work on these. The gun ruts are an excellent idea!
