Middle imperial Roman for Impetus or Hail Caesar
« on: February 03, 2017, 09:26:51 PM »
Hi all, this is the beginning of my 3rd century Roman Army, Im pretty satisfied with the result. Of course they are Armorum & Aquila miniatures, as far as I know, the only ones in 28mm... i may add Aventine Miniatures Cataphracts in the future :)
And here the minis :

Wow! :o Those are absolutely stunning. The faces really struck me as very life-like.
You go to war with the figures you have, not the figures you wish you had!

Those are splendid!

A sadly neglected era in Roman miniatures

Many thanks guys !  This project will be slow, because I have the late Roman and Sasanid armies already in progress. And its true, almost nobody produces miniatures for this period :S

Looks like I see some Crusader middle Romans in the back ranks. I don't know his name but Aventine's sculptor did the A&A middle Romans so those cataphracts should fit right in.

Yes , you have good sight ;) i added 2 crusaders "clones" not bad miniatures and great rank and file models.
Yes I have mixed both ranges before with good results.
