Heroic is  a new skirmish rules published by Winged Hussar Publishing and written by Tim Kulinski.  This is the same Tim Kulinski that wrote Legends of the High Seas published by Black Library for Wargammer Historical.

I wonder if it is one to one skirmish or small unit skirmish.

I am betting, a combination of the two.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Sorry for the author. I wanted to order, but this website won't sell anything. Tried it with Windows and Mac and tablet. So, no Heroic.  :?

That painting is the same 1998 Guiseppe Rava work that graced the cover of Volume 1 of the Volley, Bayonet and Glory Jacobite supplement published by Old Glory.

Hey Guys,

I was playtester on this and have the book, its small skirmish in the vein of the Warhammer Historical games very much like Old West and Legends of the High Seas, and the Lord of the Rings strategy game (all inspired by the original Mordheim concept ) The mechanics are very similar, except it uses a d10.  all models move, fight, shoot  individually. The base book is meant to be a generic template for any time period, example lists include Dark Ages, Old West and Pirates. there are detailed character construction rules for use with the system that you can apply to your favorite genre. "Heroic" as a rule set is a really a template, I believe Tim is going to write a more detailed Pirate book based on this, I'm working on a fantasy overlay, myself. If you have played any of the games I list you have an idea of what you are getting, "Heroic" is just looking at it thru an updated lens,  Think anywhere from 6 to 24 models a side , the latter being a big game.

This poor rulebook must be cursed or something, because I could not get the above link to load at all.

But I too found it on Amazon.  Here is the link for where I found it, on the off chance it might work...

Mine did. Looks simple in a good way, but needs a campaign system.

Mine did not yet.

I think all skirmish games need a good campaign system, actually. Maybe all wargames, even.
