If your looking at a modern take on Rome, Check out the 2011 Coriolanus movie.

For some reason I only got through the first half.  I'm not even sure why, as I liked it quite a bit. Will have to give it another look though  :D

No worries. There are plenty of good movies that i have only watched half way or in bits over multiple viewings.  :D
Just figured it would offer a good base to start from.

Hey everyone - still here, just bad at checking forum threads and working on too many projects.

I've ordered the new Spectre Insurgent PMC figures, I think they will be great for some of my Bazi SF. Will definitely be painting them as soon as they arrive, so will be aiming to get a blog post up on them and their gear soon.

I'm also planning a game using them, partially as an excuse to take a look at the beta version of Sangin Version 2 - really wanting something nice and crunchy for a small scale engagement. Will be a solo game, but you know how much I like telling a story with them.

As mentioned last time, here is my update on the Spectre Insurgent PMC figures. Probably among my fastest ordered to painted times, these are some really great figures.

As always, it's on the blog https://www.hntdaab.co.uk/blog/2021/04/28/impressions-spectres-pmc-insurgents/

Beautiful.  Just beautiful.  You certainly did them justice.  I may have to order some for my modern collection.

Thanks guys! They were really fun to paint up, definitely great models to include and with so many uses.

I've also updated the article to actually include the colours I used for the MARPAT, hope it helps.

Nice work.

Are they noticeably different in style to the other Spectre figures?

Surprise, I still live.

First of all

Nice work.

Not especially, they seem to fit together pretty well. Going to run some more games with them to see if they stand out.

I'm actually really getting back into Ultramoderns after a long break looking at more fantastical things (except when Spectre release). But I've been working on some of my fictional setting (which is on my personal wiki) and beginning to work on forces for each of them.

Part of this has been helped out by some 3D printing options. Just grabbed some Combat Octopus files from Patreon and got to work printing away. Here are the first four I've painted up, and I'll be writing up some more impressions.

Guess what? I continue to live!

And I'm back with a battle report! It took me a while but here is my first battle report using the Skirmish Sangin Version 2 - PMC operators vs Republic of Shyluz Airmobile Infantry.

Thanks!

And yess the VBL is almost adorable next to the Humvees and MRAPs of the world. With how small they are, think they might be pretty great on the table for a skirmish game, MG carrier without filling the table
