Black Earth on Indiegogo
« on: 14 February 2017, 02:52:09 AM »
Full disclosure, I'm backing this one so I've obviously got an agenda.   ;)  Indiegogo campaigns suffer from less exposure than their Kickstarter cousins so I felt the need to raise awareness, something I typically don't do.

Anyway, the campaign link is here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/black-earth-sci-fi-miniature-wargame/x/14871303#/

and the facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/BlackEarththeGame/

  • Yes, the figures are chunkier than say Corvus Belli, + for me.
  • Yes, a full faction may be out of the range for some, however the campaign is à la carte, another +
  • To my eye the UEF or Tecton could go side by side with Anvil, Mad Robot or Puppet's minis, +
  • The mutant faction could certainly be used in a Fallout setting, +
  • The creators are active and answer question on Facebook almost immediately, +
  • There are better pictures of unpainted, printed figures on the Facebook page

...end sales pitch.  :)

I was following this project with some interest (I think Beasts of War posted something about it) but it dropped the moment I saw it was going to be done on Indiegogo  :? But I loved the vehicles and the non-mutant factions.

I think the sculpts and visuals are nice - hope they succeed, but I won't be backing anything anytime soon.

The APC is a lovely vehicle :)

The rest is good but nothing 'ground breaking' in terms of originality.

Hello everyone! We're really happy you like our work and we'd like to let you know that there's plenty more coming both in this game and a couple of other projects.
Regarding IndieGoGo I'd like to note that while it was not our first choice, Kickstarter is not available in Greece yet so we had to go with IGG. We hope that doesn't end being too scary especially since we are already in the production stage (there's only a few units we haven't printed yet) and you decide to back us in any way you can into our starting project.
We'll be checking the forums daily for ideas/questions so talk to us  8) Feel free to ask any questions you may have that are not covered elsewhere.

Thanks for posting.

I am wondering if the brutes would be good for supermutants for Fallout-inspired post-apoc gaming?

I'm not a big fan of Resin figures myself but those buildings are great, any chance of doing them as a separate pledge/add-on?

Hello and thank you for you interest in our game! To the first question : Yes the brutes and Tecton Order Knights are indeed influenced both by the Fallout game series so they would be perfectly suitable for a setting such as the one you describe (check out the brute berserker wielding an M2 Browning 0.50 cal).

About the buildings now, we'll be giving away for free the 3d files to all backers who pledge 50 euros or more. Having the files you can print them at any local 3d printing studio of your choice. They require a relatively large amount of resin and they tend to be quite expensive which is why we haven't made them yet ourselves but it's something we're going to look into in the future.

Cool. I see where those could be fun. I know my grand kids would get a kick out of them. I certainly wish you the best of luck.

I'm just not a fan of resin and don't need yet another game. Still... any plans on US distribution? I could certainly find a good use for lots of those figs when they're available for retail.

We'll sell the minis in our website :) We'll continue normally, Igg was to let us purchase an expensive 3d printer for prototypes but we can skip that. We have plenty planned for the future.
