Encarnado versus red

How does "encarnado" differ from red?

It does not matter at 3/6mm but it may differ at 15/18mm sized figures.

Encarnado means the colour of meat. I would use a dark red, burgundy or maybe a slightly brownish red to match.

Supposedly the red in Fluminense's strip is encarnado. Theirs is best described as a burgundy colour, of course it's hard to tell under all the pó de arroz.

Keep in mind colour in prints or hand tinted ones, the shades would not have been stable and as suchmay not be a true reflection of the real colour.
