Howdy cow pokes,

How is the best way to go about making action cards for games such as TRWNN? Hot glue gun  paper cutouts to playing cards?

I do all my gaming aids in Photoshop for the maximum flexibility and full control it offers.

For a different project I bought card blanks and printed the images out on paper.

I used UHU stic glue to attach the paper to the card. It's a bit like Pritt, but less lumpy. I would have thought hot glue would be very messy. You also need to watch out for glue warping the cards (eg pva). The UHU stic is "dry" so doesn't really warp anything (although I left the cards under a pile of books overnight, just in case)

We play a heavily bastardised version of TRWNN.

Simply bought a box of blank playing cards (about 500!) from educational supplier on the net.  We then print our cards on full page self adhesive label, cut them out and stick to cards.

I'd definitely lean toward photoshop/GIMP/Microsoft Paint and then put them into a printable PDF format --- print and laminate with 3mm/5mm lightweight laminate.

(Actually I do all my own stuff through The Gamecrafter but that's extra work if you're not going full out on the project)

We find we are changing, adding to all the time so my way is cheaper but I can see the appeal of laminated nice ones.

Just print them off on paper (card stock is even better) and drop them into opaque sleeves.

Simple to design in Gimp or MS Paint (or Photoshop if you have it) using their templates.
Upload the images you want and they print for you and post them back. Very reasonable prices and they frequently have special offers/deals going.

Printable sheets of business cards are also a good way to do them
