Perry Brits Question
« on: March 31, 2017, 05:08:21 AM »
Can somebody please enlighten me, whether or not some of the Perry plastic British Naps Infantry have 'wings' on the shoulders (thus being flank/light)?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Hi,
There are flank companies in the Box. I have just painted the Miniatures from the box!
In the leaflet inside is an example on how to base the figs!
Six grenadiers and six lights! But there are not enough wings arms in der the box for 12 miniatures

There are enough arms in the box to build at least nine flank company privates (on both the main frame and the command frame, with a choice of left arms for some of the loading poses) :

Given that the set contains 36 figures (not counting the separate four riflemen), 12 flank company figures would be way too much. British battalions of the period had ten companies, two of which were flank companies. Grenadier and light coys of four figures each are more proportional for a 36 figure unit - unless you're totally anal about it and insist on companies of 3.6 figures  :D

Thanks for the answers, guys!  :)

I am contemplating a bit of nappie skirmishing, probably starting with SoDaS, later going for Sharp Practice or the likes, and I thought it would be a bit much to buy a Victrix box of 56 flank coy minis, I am more likely to get all minis from a mixed box used at some point (and I like that I get some riflemen in the Perry box, too).

The Victrix muskets aren't as detailed and the bayonets tend to breakoff very easily. Just to make you aware.

Another reason for choosing the Perry plastics, then! Thanks!
