I got one of those cheapo LED photo backdrop things, so here are a few photos of older toy conversions:

Another pound store action figure, he proved to have OK detail under his dreadful paint job.

A 20p souvenir from a zoo gift shop got an added rider and some crude putty claws to become deadly cavalry.

That horned monster looks cool. Do you remember what brand it was sold under?

Yeah, it's called something like "Journey to Creation," but I've also seen it marketed as something like "Legendary Creatures."

Here's the "before" pic:

Right, after a little period of silence, here's Fly Guy. Honestly, I think this would work better with a proper model -- there's a lot of hassle to not much reward working with the army man.

lol he's still cute, and I'll admit I didn't think he'd turn out that good as I was scrolling down.

Love this thread!

IMHO, the fly-man would look better if you just keep the fly's bulging eyes and head, and lose the wings and legs.

I still shudder from the first night I saw the original "The Fly" movie on the Acri Creature Feature...

I will try that on a future one. I got a big package of plastic grubs, worms, ants and flies around Halloween, so I think there are still some around somewhere.

I bought some skeleton warrior plastic figures from Poundland. They're far too big to just be skeletons in 28mm, but I figured they'd make good statues or giants or whatever, and at a dozen or so for £1, what was the harm?

Or you could pay $12.95 for a set........
