Tech Archaeologist Juno Starstrider travels the galaxy in search of lost and forgotten technology.
Failed, long forgotten colonies, ruins of dead xeno civilizations, planets once lost in horrific wars... as long as there's hope for lost tech, Doctor Starstrider will go there.
Of course, not many wants to go there with her, but the fringes are rife with adventurers and guns for hire...

I do enjoy that rule set for the random character backgrounds.  :)

On slow meetings at work I sometimes roll up a crew using random.org/integers :)

The figure looks really good, the scenery looks interesting too.

Thanks, Grumbledook! It's a GZG Technician mounted on a 20mm slottabase, I painted it in two hours (a new personal record - I'm a slow painter). The building is Mad Mecha Guy containers with some GZG add-ons and scratchbuilt stuff out of plasticard.

Be right at home in Rogue Stars and Void Pirates, too.

I'm waiting for second edition of Five Parsecs from Home, whenever it will arrive. Haven't heard of Void Pirates, is it a good ruleset?

Nice job on the figure.

Thanks!

Me too!

Nice figure and interesting start. I look forward to seeing how this post develops.
I don\'t know whether to be a good example or a horrible warning.

I've got three boxes of terrain (two boxes of grey (city) terrain and one box of brown (badlands) terrain), which I hope I will be able to photograph later today

Down on Golgotha Prime, a new colony has sprung up in an area known as "the Darkness". Nobody knows why, but global positioning systems aren't working as they should in the Darkness and radio signals must be amplified greatly to reach out. This is a mixed blessing for the colonists, since it's pretty dangerous to get lost in the woods around Darkness Falls, but it also makes it harder for pirates and other miscreants to find the colony...

Now, he is only known as the dreaded pirate Skulltaker of the Crimson Reavers, but once upon a time Leif Lurberg was a prominent economist in the Esau-Luv system.

During the Unity-Minare War, Esau-Luv system was used as a staging area for Unity warships bound for Minarian space. When spies found the staging area, Minarian High Command decided to employ the experimental Sunstorm Charge. Warped into the Esau-Luv sun, the Sunstorm Charge released a massive EMP blast, blanketing the entire system, destroying both Unity warships and the Esau-Luv industrial base.

Lurberg worked day and night on plans to rebuild the Esau-Luv economy, but when aid from Unity failed to materialize, his plans turned sinister: "With no ability to procure and refine sufficient amounts of resources by ourselves, we must rely on external sources. By exposing the Esau-Luv system to danger, Unity is responsible for our current situation. It is no more than right for Esau-Luv citizens to seize whatever Unity assets they can find to collect our debt."

Shortly after finishing the last draft of his plans, Lurberg joined the Crimson Reavers. Using fear to make crews surrender their cargo would yield maximum gain out of minimum input, but if his new name and face paint wouldn't be enough, Skulltaker knew how to wield a knife..

Yes, it's another GZG figure, from Ravagers pack A

I love GZG minis, they are full of character. In this case there's a couple of strange design choices, though. It seems as if this particular mini is supposed to have a subcutaneous skull plate, but I think it looks like an unfortunate mouldline or miscast. Anyway, it didn't matter since I gave him a skull face paint which covered it up.
