Lovely job on these latest ones - the outpost must be looking pretty good now!

Thanks, Jagannath!

There's still room for expansion, but it looks pretty okay, I think. In these pictures, I've put the finished buildings so that they show of their best side. The unfinished buildings are seen from behind, which makes them seem less unfinished.

Ooh, I'm liking the looks of the dark green one in the back.
Very nice setup you've got there too.

Cheers,
Stroezie.

Thanks, Stroezie!

The dark green one in the back is supposed to be the colony communications centre. I'm going to add a large communications dish on top of it and loads of electronic panels and vents.

Its' absolutely great mate-  It's got a space-western vibe without being naff (that frontier feel without just sticking wires on old west buildings). Very inspiring.

Hey,
There are some buildings I have not seen before (white and yellow?).
I really like the group shot.  The bold colours are great for 15mm.

I've got to admit that I find some of the old-west-with-wires buildings charming, but I think one must add some machinery to make them work. I think these are pretty nice! [LINK]

I have an idea of the progression of a container colony:

Stage 1: Container buildings, more or less finished when delivered
Stage 2: Buildings made from construction material brought with the containers (for example metal sheeting or brick), but perhaps also buildings constructed from the dropship.
Stage 3: Buildings made from local materials, where wood (or other plant material) might be used to construct buildings reminiscent of old west buildings.

Very good.

Thanks, Ultravanillasmurf!

I really like the group shot.  The bold colours are great for 15mm.

The white one is the colony infirmary, I have finished everything but the front entrance (and I will perhaps add a ladder). Hopefully soon it will be ready to be shown.
The yellow one is a mechanics shop, a stage 2 building built by bolting metal sheets together. I wasn't happy with the drybrushing result, so I'm waiting for inspiration to give it another try.

I agree with you - 15mm looks best being bright.

Looking good, sir.

Thanks, Dr De'Ath! I've just got to paint some crews, then there might be an AAR!

Re: [15mm] Ockman's Sci-fi, update 171221: GZG shopping list

I love GZG's Christmas offer. Each year I buy stuff that I've wanted for a while and they give me gifts.

Earlier years, I have focused on building supplies, colonists, ravagers, robots, droids and drones. The gifts has been amazing, one year I got drones in droves!

This year, I have focused on buying models for skirmish wargaming. This is my Christmas list:

Mercs
I bought Mercs pack B (female Mercs) and Mercs snipers. I want to create an all female mercenary group.

UNSC
I wanted a more professional mercenary group with cohesive battle dress and advanced weaponry. Bought UNSC/L pack B (I don't like buying models without proper pictures) and a pack of grav cycles for rapid response.

Islamic Federation
Ever since I first saw WH40K, I have wanted a Tallarn army. Islamic Federation troops with shemaghs are the perfect 15mm stand-ins.
My main problem is that I haven't got a desert board (and won't get one either, until I'm done with my city and badlands boards).
Still, I love the models and will either use a paint scheme inspired by Rebel Alliance Battle of Endor uniforms (I've seen Tallarn with green smocks - looks great!) or in a black/grey/crimson paintjob, representing an intergalactic tech cult, working to keep dangerous artifacts away from greedy hands (inspired by Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword from Indiana Jones).
Anyway, I bought two packs of shemagh-wearing infantry (rifles/special weapons) and one pack of halftrack bikes with riders wearing shemaghs.

Ravagers
Had to give the Crimson Reavers some long range support, bought Ravagers pack B with rifles and shotguns.

Terrain
I love terrain building, so I had to get some bits and pieces. Bought the large containers and some electrical boxes. Last, but not least, I bought a medium missile battery. I think it will be a great objective to fight over.

Now I just got to wait for it to arrive... will update on what I got as my Christmas gift!

I ordered some stuff as well, even a hover truck!

Have you tried combat scenery?
I’m going to order their 15 mm sci fi terrain.

I really like your container buildings.  Must fight the urge . . .

I love GZG, fantastic range and Jon is brilliant.

@oldben1 - Thank you!!!!!! I'd certainly never heard of combat scenery, it's fantastic. The X-Wing stuff will be so good for my 6mm sci-fi.

Wow, a hover truck - cool!

I can't find combat scenery, do you have a link? Is it mdf? I'm pretty tired of mdf, unless it's innovative.

Also: give in to the call of container buildings!

GZG is great, both miniaturewise and as a company. Great ranges, great customer service, great support, great everything!
