Jagannath: Another idea (that I haven't thought thru) is wired terminals, small sci-fi bits where one can glue soldering wire to look like wiring:

Great group shots! Building accessories are something that I’ve never got around to buying, but am surprised by how limited the options are...... making a load of tiny card doors and windows takes way too much time.

For what it is worth, I just make one master, then cast it using blue stuff, then churn out little consoles and bits by the dozens. I've done this with books, boxes, computer consoles, etc. Probably not as fancy as buying it from a manufacturer, but it allows consistency on a low budget.

Thanks, Grumbledook!

GZG has got some accessories, Antenociti's Workshop had great stuff, but that's gone. I've bought some train stuff (H0 trashcans, doors and windows) as well.

I agree that one can't scratchbuild loads of doors.

Sounds fun, but too much work. I like my pre-bought greeblies!

I have almost exactly that type of idea on the agenda - consoles plus wire 'holders' to be used with solder.

Going to print and prep masters this weekend I hope, so I'll send you some pics.

New crew by Oscar Falk, on Flickr

Okay, so good news, bad news and worse news:

Good news: I've had half an hour over and did some sloppy basecoating, and I have to say that I love the colour.

Bad news: Due to falling asleep with my contacts still in, I've contracted Keratitis.

Worse news: I'm not allowed to wear contacts for six weeks and since my glasses makes everything appear ≈25% smaller, I'm not sure how much painting I will be able to do for six weeks...

Great minds think alike, eh?

I'm looking forward to whatever you are creating!

Oh that just sucks! Can you use one of those magnifying visors? With your Doctors okaying it, wouldn't want you to damage your eyes, but if one has to wait 6 weeks then I'll just have to wait then  ;) rest well and hope you get better fast.

Clark Kent?
Sorry about the eyes.  My wife had the same problem!  Maybe you need to go up to 20mm scale for the next little while.
Love the orange.

Have you tried a magnifying visor?

Thanks for the nice words, friends!

It's a bit painful right now, so I'm not sure if a magnifying visor would help that much. Hopefully it will be better soon, I've got an appointment with a doctor today.

I think that I will use my eventual hobby time to take some pictures of already painted (but not shown) minis, paint some already built terrain, build some new terrain or perhaps construct a cargo hauler out of plasticard. I will let my eyes rest on less detailed stuff  ;)

Can’t go wrong with orange jumpsuits! They’re looking fab.

Hope your eyes are fully functioning again soon, sounds like a pretty miserable affair. Although I think making some new terrain or a a spaceship sound great!

Thanks Grumbledook, the eye is better now, no bacterial infestations left.

Unfortunately the bacteria ate some of my eye, so it will take at least a month until it's properly spherical again. No contacts (and no proper miniature painting) until then.

I made a paper prototype of a cargo hauler today, though.

It's something I've wanted for a long time!

Thanks, mates! I'm recovering okay, but it's hard to do anything with glasses. No line stays straight and everything is small.

Still, it's fun to try something new!
